Over the years, I’ve worked with many clients who live with ADHD. Time and again, I’ve seen how frustrated they feel — not just by the clutter in their homes, but by the stories they’ve absorbed about themselves: I’m just not organised… I can’t do this… my brain doesn’t work that way.
And while yes, ADHD does bring real challenges when it comes to organising and maintaining a clutter-free home, that’s never the whole story.
Because alongside the difficulties, there are strengths. Powerful, often hidden strengths that — with the right support — can become incredible resources in the decluttering process. Here are some of the qualities I’ve seen shine through time and again in my clients with ADHD.
You have vision – even if it’s hard to access alone
Many people with ADHD struggle to hold onto a clear picture of what they want their space to look and feel like. The big vision may be there somewhere, but it often gets lost in the overwhelm of details, decisions, and emotions. Part of my role is to help you hold that bigger picture steady — to gently guide you back to it when your brain wants to jump between different priorities. Together, we bring that vision into focus, one step at a time.
You can move quickly – once you’re anchored
When supported, many people with ADHD can make remarkable progress in short bursts. What often blocks you isn’t the ability to take action, but the difficulty in getting started, staying on track, and managing the decision fatigue along the way. By providing structure, focus and a calm, non-judgemental space, I help you access those bursts of energy and make the most of them — safely and sustainably.
Your instincts are often strong – but hard to hear through the noise
ADHD brains can struggle to filter what’s important from what isn’t — everything can feel equally urgent, equally valuable, or equally overwhelming. But underneath that noise, you often do have clear instincts about what matters to you. My job is to help create enough space and clarity for those instincts to come through, so you can make confident, thoughtful decisions without feeling flooded.
Your creativity is a huge asset – when it’s channelled
Many of my ADHD clients are naturally creative thinkers, able to see possibilities and alternative solutions that others miss. But that creativity can easily become scattered or paralyse you with too many ideas at once. Through our work together, we take that creative energy and gently focus it — finding simple, elegant solutions that fit your life and make your space easier to maintain.
Your emotional depth brings meaning to the process
Decluttering isn’t just about stuff — it’s often about memories, identity, and untold stories. ADHD can intensify those emotions, which sometimes makes it harder to let go. But those same emotions can also help you get clear about what’s truly meaningful. When handled gently and respectfully, this emotional depth becomes a guiding force in making decisions that honour your life and your future.
Simplicity offers real relief
For many with ADHD, complexity creates ongoing background stress. Simplifying your home — reducing how many decisions you have to make every day — can feel deeply calming. Once we’ve done the heavy lifting together, many of my clients find that a simpler, more spacious home helps them feel lighter, clearer, and far less drained.
You can absolutely learn systems that work for your brain
One of the biggest myths is that you’re simply “not an organised person”. I don’t believe that. With the right systems, tailored to the way your brain works, you absolutely can build habits and routines that feel natural and sustainable. And once you experience how much easier life becomes, these systems often start reinforcing themselves.
ADHD doesn’t just create obstacles – it also brings resources
Yes, ADHD creates real challenges. But it also brings creativity, energy, resilience, emotional depth, and a different way of seeing the world. These strengths may be hard to access alone — but with the right support, they become powerful resources. My role is to help you unlock them, so you can create a home that truly supports you and your life.
